Merry Christmas
From La Wanna
Christmas is just a few days away and it has been colder in
my area than it has been in the last few years. It reminds me of when I was a
kid. We didn’t have much but my memories are not sad. Other people around us
seemed to be in a similar situation. Some had more, some had less, but we cared
about each other and looked out for each other and that made it a good time.
I remember the commercials that showed families sitting
around the living room with only the light from the fireplace or in the kitchen
with everyone laughing and talking. It was such a warm, friendly, cozy setting
and I would imagine experiencing that for myself. Of course in our house,
having hot chocolate was an extravagant luxury we could not afford.
When I became an adult with a family of my own, I created my
own family traditions. For Christmas and Thanksgiving, I would get up early and
prepare pancakes, bacon, and eggs, and yes hot chocolate with marshmallows. My
children loved it and it seemed to set the tone for the rest of the day.
I hope you have memories you can look back on that adds
warmth to your heart and brings a smile to your lips. It doesn’t have to be a
big event, just a thought or remembrance that affected you in a positive way.
Christmas is special to me, not because of any gifts I
receive, but because it reminds me how much God loves me. I wish you all the
very best Christmas with love, joy, peace, and presents.
Have a Very Merry Christmas!
