Happy New Year

The year is starting out on a great positive note for me. I have made my dream board of what I will accomplish this year and I am excited. This is going to be an awesome year.

What about you. Have you made a dream board for what you want to accomplish? If you have not, now is the time. Think about two or three things you truly want to accomplish this year. It must be something you are passionate about and willing to put in that extra effort to achieve.

If you can only come up with one goal, that’s ok. Just no more than three. Now that you have your goals, list them by priority. You can work on all three, but one will require more of your time and effort until you have achieved your desire. Then work just as hard on the next one, then the last one.

Get yourself a board about 15 by 20 inches. Find pictures that represent your goals and paste them on the board. Place the board where you can see it throughout the day. This will help keep you focused on your goals.

Now that you have your dream board and you know which goal you are going to work on first, you have to decide what to do to make this goal a reality. For example, you want to write a short story and you decide you want to complete it in four months. If the story is 60,000 words, you will need to decide how many pages or words a day you will write. Using words as an example that would be 500 words a day, seven days a week.

You could break it into 250 words in the morning and 250 in the evening or smaller still depending on your available time. Breaking your goals into small steps makes it easier to accomplish and not so out of reach. Do this for all your goals and see how great it feels when you are done.

Until next time, happy goal setting. Have a great day.
